Heliotrope is such an interersting scent, and its oil is fabulous. Originally from Peru, the Heliotropium arborescens flower was brought to English and European gardens in the eighteenth century.
Heliotrope essential oil smells like a light, carmelized vanilla. Its magickal uses include attracting wealth, protecting from physical harm, clairvoyance, and finding lost objects.
A wonderfully relaxing herb, heliotrope essential oil can be used in a bath to make you feel totally calm. Don't put it directly on your skin, however, since it can be irritating, especially for those with sensitive skin.
Heliotrope essential oil in a lotion or cream is useful for skin irritations and generally dry skin. It is soothing as well as antiseptic. It works fabulously in conjunction with lavender, cassia bark or other soothing oils.
Enchanted Works will soon be offering Heliotrope essential oil. Watch this space.
